Are you an Unattached Runner? If you join your local club, not only do you save two pounds on your race entry fees,
you train with friends, you can get tips from more experienced runners,
you can run in races open only to club runners (local cross country leagues, road and off-road relays, Yorkshire veterans championships etc),
and you can put something back into the sport by helping at the club's races.

Well done everyone who ran the Meanwood Trail Junior Race or the Senior Race on Saturday 16 May!
The storms overnight Friday put a few people off but conditions were better than feared.
A record 100 juniors ran in the 1 mile or 2 mile race. The number of senior finishers, 342, was our second highest ever.
Hope you are back for the Harewood Trail Races on Sunday 4 October
and/or next year's Meanwood Races.

The Baildon Boundary Way due to be on 1st April was cancelled.
The Guiseley Gallop was run on 15th April on an alternative course in Nunroyd Park.
Regarding the 24th March, the Emergency Regulations had closed all Public Rights of Way in Adel Woods.
There were potential alternative routes using other trails in the woods but these were not as wide.
Taking into consideration the recent declaration of Foot and Mouth in West Yorkshire
and the likelihood that restrictions would increase rather than decrease
we decided to postpone the race.
Numbers already issued would be valid for the revised date.

Entries 203-367 were received up to and including 24 March. All numbers have now been sent out including those marked "collect on day". These runners have been contacted with information about the revised date and arrangements.
Entries commencing 368 arrived during May and June.
We now have approval from
Leeds City Council Public Rights of Way Dept,
West Yorkshire Police,
and North of England A A (permit 200124).
In view of the recent outbreak of Foot & Mouth disease at Middleton, near Ilkley, only 10 miles from our race, you should re-check nearer the date that the race is still on.
