Dear Runner,

You will probably not be too surprised to learn that we have decided to postpone the race.

Until a week ago, we were optimistic on the basis that we could find a route that avoided bridleways. But soon after, exclusion notices were also put on the footpaths in the area.

For the last week we have been discussing the options and checking with Leeds City Council and the North of England Athletics Association. We are now able to publish the full details. We have decided to rearrange the race for

We will set in place arrangements so that, nearer the date, you can find out whether the race is on. Hopefully by the beginning of June all restrictions will have been lifted - if so the race will be confirmed to be on. If, however, there are still restrictions, from 1st June we will have a recorded message on 0113 289 2830 to let you know what is happening.

Entries already received will be carried forward to the revised date. Cheques have not yet been banked.

If we are unable to hold the race on 30th June, the cheques will not be banked and you will have no action to take. If, in this case, you would like to donate your entry fee to Lineham Farm Children's Centre, then contact us by phone, mail or e-mail. We would not attempt to reschedule the race again but instead we would concentrate on organising our Autumn race, the Harewood 10 mile trail race, which we hope to hold towards the end of September.

If the race goes ahead on 30th June but you are unable to or do not wish to run, then providing you return your number to us by 16th June, we will not bank your cheque. If we don't receive your number, then we will donate the full value of your entry fee to Lineham Farm Children's Centre.

Please pass this information on to any of your friends who were considering entering - their entries for 30th June will be welcome on existing entry forms.
