are planning a junior training session between Christmas and New Year which
will be open to all junior members, also to those on the waiting list and to
friends of junior members.
This training session will take place on
Friday 29 December (the date mentioned in the last email was incorrect) and we
will be meeting, ready to run, in front of the Lakeside Cafe at 10:00am in
Roundhay Park. More details to follow
and will be on the website. NB please check the website on the day before setting off just in case
there are any changes.

Running from injury -
Why do runners get injured and how to we stop it?
This is an event at the Rosebowl
(near the junction of Woodhouse Lane and Claypit Lane)
(quite near the Arena), part of Leeds Beckett University Campus, on Wednesday
31 January from 6pm to 8pm.
It is led by Dr Peter Francis who is a senior
lecturer at Leeds Beckett University and also a physio at Leos.
Tickets are free but must be booked in advance
NB he's quite a good runner, won 2nd
December Woodhouse parkrun in 16:53.
V S Fell Championship
Final Table (from Steve Webb)
The final Fell Champs league is now on the
website and includes the Wadsworth Half Trog.
This year we had 39 scorers in the Men's championship
and the winner was Ross Bibby, who averaged over 90 points at his top 5 races
and regained the prestigious trophy he won in 2015. Ross left it late because his only qualifying
Long category race came at Pendle in November.
There was a close battle for 2nd place with Simon Vallance just pipping
Mick Loftus, who was the most prolific racer.
There were 19 scorers in the Ladies'
championship and the very clear winner was Amanda Seims who has had some
excellent results including scoring over 100 points at Fairfield. Second was the ever-running ultra adventurer Sarah Smith and third was Josie
Rothera. It is good to see so many new
names in the Ladies' championship this year: I hope they enjoyed running on the
fells and will try some more races in 2018.
