Why not join the masses at Roundhay Park on the Friday then come and see a proper firework display and huge fire at Leos on Saturday night.

Again the prices remain the same @ £2 per person or £5 for a family.

Limited parking available in our car park so come early to get a spot or better still dig the coats, hats and scarves out and walk down Crag Lane.

All profits again this year all go back in the club house, so come and support your club.

RESULTS

Results from Toulouse (from Ian Sanderson)

Ian emailed "Big John was first to the finish and was sipping on a coffee (and a beer) in Cafe Albert before the marathon runners had even set-off. Dan bust a gut (?) to be the first strider home in the semi-marathon, Becky got a p.b. and Anne finished her first half with a smile on her face. Clive cruised around the marathon course in sub-3 hours and everyone else finished under 4 hours, which is pretty impressive. Steph got a p.b.  All-in-all a great tour, and everyone (including the 8 supporters) had a good time, even those of us who failed to get any cassoulet. Come and join us next year (wherever that may be)!"

REPORTS

Worksop half marathon (from Chris Sawyer)

I ran the Worksop Half Marathon on Sunday 29 October. The route description says the race is also known as "the scenic one" and it lived up to its nickname. The race starts and finishes at a school about half a mile from the centre of town. It is held on closed roads and more than half the race takes place within the Clumber Park estate. Although not flat the course is only gently undulating with the only climb of note within the first mile - you descend the hill again in the final mile. The rewards for finishers are a Long Sleeve T-Shirt and medal - both Halloween themed. The race was well organised but like many races these days there was a 10 minute delay at the start because of problems at registration.

My performance was 732 out of 2485 - gun 1:47:43 and chip 1:47:11. I think I was the only Valley Strider present.
