Tuesday 26 July
- Juniors, parents, beginners, improvers and
slower intermediates will be at Grammar School at Leeds at 6pm
- This session is not available to new juniors nor those on
the waiting list
- Experienced runners and faster intermediates will be hills by Eccup
Reservoir, meet Leos at 7pm

Valley Striders Club Barbecue - Saturday 6 August from
6:30pm
Following
successful Summer barbecues which have been held for
the last two years, we have decided to repeat the event again this year. The
evening will include games, music, food and drinks. All Valley Striders members
are welcome to attend, along with partners and kids.
£10.50 adults and
£6.50 kids - includes main course and dessert.
Please also email [email protected] to confirm your booking. When emailing, please
let us know if you require a vegetarian option. We will need your booking and
money to be paid in advance
to secure your place. Online banking should be paid to sort code
53-70-00, a/c number 72143851 (note that this is NOT the normal VS account),
reference to include your name and the word “BBQ".
Note that the last
date for orders is 31 July.
COMMUNICATION
Facebook
If a FB group has more than 250 members,
people posting events cannot notify the whole group (they can only notify group
members who are their friends). The VSAC FB group recently exceeded 250 members
so we decided to remove people who weren't also paid up VSAC club members.
If anyone feels they have been removed in error,
please request to re-join!
If anyone hasn't yet paid their subs for
2015-16 and is still a member of the GB group, beware, you may be next to be removed!

VSAC gets a couple of mentions on the VSCC
website, and this includes some text that has been on the front page of the
VSAC website for a long time:
"Valley
Striders Athletics Club is based in Alwoodley, Leeds, Yorkshire,
England. We affiliate to England
Athletics and compete in Road, Fell, Cross Country and Trail Running. We have 280 adult members and 120 junior
members. Our runners range in pace from
12 to 5 minute miling. Olympic Marathon runner Tracey Morris is one
of our fastest runners but we have many much slower! Each year we organise the Meanwood Valley
Trail Race and Junior Races in April/May and the Harewood Trail Races, Junior
Race and Fun Run in October/November."
I've found an archive of the website from March
2006 and it was in use then! So,
definitely time for a change!, A free membership for
2016/7 is on offer for a new version which summarises VSAC in 100 to 150 words
(there are 91 in the text above). Please

Committee will be final!
