Juniors Training on 22nd March

The rugby pitches are still not safe to train on, so we will be leading 3 groups of juniors for road sessions.  For juniors to take part, they must have run at least 5 junior or senior parkruns in the last 12 months or have competed as a VS runner in a local race.

A special rule for this week only is that if parents are attending the meeting, their children will be able to run the 6pm session, providing their parents accompany them.

Please arrive by 6pm so that we can arrange groups and set off at a reasonable time!

Other sessions on 22nd March

Beginners/improvers at 6pm, Intermediates at 7pm, Experienced runners at 7pm.  The 7pm sessions will be slightly shorter than usual to allow the AGM to start on time.

Sessions on 29th March

Details will appear on the front page of the website as soon as known

Teams of 3 are required for the final Peco event of the season.  The junior relay starts at 10:00 and is approx. 1.3 miles each, the senior relay at 11:00 and is approx. 3.1 miles each.

So far we have a boys junior team, two girls junior teams and two teams from the Intermediates group, but there are one or two looking to make up teams.  If you're wanting to run on Sunday please see V S Facebook group.

Membership Renewal Reminder - 70 adult runners still to pay

The new England Athletics year starts on 1st April and early in April we will send off affiliation fees for all of our adult members who've paid their V S membership fees for the V S year September 2015 to August 2016.

There still 70 adults who paid a year ago but have not renewed with V S. Please check at www.valleystriders.org.uk/vsmemreg.htm (note that this does not include payments in the last 2 weeks)

We'd be grateful if you'd let us know whether or not you're intending to renew, please email [email protected].

Note that the 70 include 2 on the list for the 12-stage relays and at least 4 others who competed in the Peco League.  If in doubt, please check!

RESULTS

Spen 20

A great result for Valley Striders with John Hobbs 1st , Andy May 2nd, and Rav Panesar 7th.  I'll publish results for the other Striders in next week's V S Update alongside East Hull.

Harewood 10k

A lot of club names were missing and I had been transferred to Bingley Harriers!  I'm hoping I've found all the Valley Striders.  Three names listed as Valley Striders but not members (nor ever have been) were Sharon Buckle, Catherine Scanlon and Rosanna Cawthorn - does anyone know them?
