Two sittings for pie and peas – please book by 10pm Sunday 16th – or else…!

·         early sessions followed by pie and peas at 7:15pm book at [email protected]

·         later sessions followed by pie and peas at 8:30pm book at [email protected]  

·         bookings MUST be made before 10pm Sunday – Tony places his order with his butcher on Sunday night

·         choose meat pie or veggie bake (£3.50), whether you want mushy peas or baked beans and whether you want apple pie (£1.50)

·         if you book and don’t cancel before 10pm Sunday, you are liable for payment if you don’t attend.  If you subsequently email a cancellation, we may be able to re-sell your food.

Peco race 1 – Sunday 30 November at Barnbow (Crossgates)

 

·         The races are suitable for all except beginners and those who hate mud

·         Trail or fell shoes are recommended, road shoes with plenty of grooves should be OK, flat soled shoes are unsuitable

·         Typical distances – adults four to five miles, juniors school years 4-6 one mile, school years 7-12 two miles

·         Juniors (school years 4 to 12) need not register.  Ages 16 and above may run in the senior race at the discretion of the Race Organiser (please contact me)

·         All VS adults who ran a Peco race last year have been registered.

VS Junior Xmas Party – Tuesday 9 December

 

Bookings are now being taken for the Junior Christmas Party (parents welcome too!) to be held on Tuesday 9th December 2013 at Leos from 6:15pm to 8:00pm approx.

 

The buffet menu will cater for children and adults and include chicken nuggets, chilli, hot dogs, nachos and pizza for mains and a selection of desserts including cheesecake and jelly & ice cream. We have games planned before the meal, between courses and after the meal, and also a quiz (I suspect a knowledge of boy and girl bands may be an advantage).  We also have some awards to present.  More information to follow. Please arrive for about 6:15pm.  NB no junior training session on 9 December.

 

Tickets cost £6 (same price all ages) and to book your place please email [email protected] by Saturday 6 December – NB please advise number of children and number of adults. Veggie option available, please say in your email.

V S Xmas Party -  Friday 12 December

 

Bookings are now being taken for the Christmas Party to be held on Friday 12th December 2013 here at Leos.

 

The evening will be a Christmas party like never before (or maybe like last year)! You will be welcomed from 7pm by a festive atmosphere of music and friends.

 

Tickets will cost somewhere between £14 and £16 (we’ve yet to book the band) and to book your place please email [email protected] by Sunday 7 December. Veggie option available, please say in your email.  There will be no admittance on the night without pre-booking.

 

The ticket price will include a two course buffet meal, a band, 10 top quality prizes for the raffle, a short celebration of our running achievements from the year and dancing through as late as 2am.

 

We’ll confirm the price next week, then please make payment.

Message from Mr Kit – Last chance to order a hooded top ahead of Christmas. The options / costs are:

·         Adult Black Hoody (no zip) - £20

·         Adult Black or Grey Hoody (full zip) – £24.50

·         Kids Black Hoody (no zip) – £15

·         Kids Black or Grey Hoody (full zip) - £19

 

Each hoody comes as either male or female and will have ‘Valley Striders Leeds’ on the back (heat applied) and the same on the chest only smaller and embroidered. The price also includes for your name or initials to be embroidered on the chest so you don’t get it mixed up with other Striders. If someone doesn’t want their name adding, a slight saving to the prices above can be offered. An image of the tops can be found on Facebook.
