If you ran race 1, don’t forget to bring your number with you next week!

 

If you had registered for the series but didn’t run race 1, your number will be waiting for you under the Valley Striders flag on race day.

 

If you haven’t yet registered for the series and want to run race 2 you must let me know by Sunday 8 December at 10pm  email [email protected]

If you’re reading this “next week” and haven’t registered and want to run, there is a possibility that the race organisers will extend the deadline, so email the “teams” email and I’ll let you know if you can get in.

 

NB Juniors don’t need to pre-register, just turn up on the day.

V S Junior Xmas Party & Presentations – Tuesday 10 December

 

Bookings close Sunday 8 December at 10pm for the Junior Christmas Party (parents welcome!) to be held on Tuesday 10th December 2013 here at Leos from 6:30pm to 8:00pm approx.

 

The buffet menu will cater for children and adults and include chicken nuggets, chilli, hot dogs, nachos and pizza for mains and a selection of desserts including cheesecake and jelly & ice cream. We have games planned before the meal, between courses and after the meal, and also a quiz.  We also have some awards to present.  Please arrive for about 6:15pm.  NB no junior training session on 10 December.

 

Tickets cost £6 (same price all ages) and to book your place please email [email protected] - NB please advise number of children and number of adults. Veggie option available, please say in your email.

Hooded Tops Order (now for Juniors too) – DEADLINE Sunday 8th December 2013

 

Message from Mr Kit – Last chance to order a hooded top ahead of Christmas with the option to now buy tops for your kids. The options / costs are:

 

Adult Black Hoody (no zip) - £20

Adult Black or Grey Hoody (full zip) – £24.50

 

Kids Black Hoody (no zip) – £15

Kids Black or Grey Hoody (full zip) - £19

 

Each hoody comes as either male or female and will have ‘Valley Striders Leeds’ on the back (heat applied) and the same on the chest only smaller and embroidered. The price also includes for your name or initials to be embroidered on the chest so you don’t get it mixed up with other Striders. If someone doesn’t want their name adding, a slight saving to the prices above can be offered.

London Marathon ballot

 

Valley Striders have 4 places in the London Marathon 2014.

 

If you would like your name to be put into the ballot which will take place at the VS Xmas Party, let me know by Tuesday 10 December 10pm

 

Email [email protected] and say whether you applied and received a rejection slip or are just keen anyway.

 

V S Xmas Party -  Friday 13 December

 

Bookings close Tuesday 10 December at 10pm for the Christmas Party to be held on Friday 13th December 2013 here at Leos.

 

The evening will be a Christmas party like never before! You will be welcomed from 7pm by a festive atmosphere of music and friends.

 

Tickets cost £14 and to book your place please email [email protected] by Sunday 8 December. Veggie option available, please say in your email.  There will be no admittance on the night without pre-booking.

 

The ticket price will include a two course buffet meal, a band, 10 top quality prizes for the raffle, a short celebration of our running achievements from the year and dancing through as late as 2am.

Under-11 Girls

 

Tally Diamond didn’t run but had run the other 3 races in the series and finished 21st overall in this category.

 

Under-11 Boys

 

Joe Sherman, running for Skyrac, finished 5th in the race and 6th overall in the series (winning a medal).  His Skyrac team were the winning team in the series.

 

Sam Hollis didn’t run but had run the other 3 races in the series and finished 37th  overall in this category.

 

Under-13 Boys

 

Callum Chambers didn’t run but had run the other 3 races in the series and finished 46th overall.  Max Vine had run 2 races in this category.

 

Under-15 Girls

 

Aileen Loftus didn’t run but had run the other 3 races in the series and finished 21st overall.

 

Under-15 Boys

 

On the day, we had 3 runners – this was the first time VS had had a complete junior team
