Subject: V S Update - email problems, Tuesday's arrangements, VLM 2013, parkrun, LHM

This is mainly an update to my email on Thursday.  NB if you didn’t get it (I did have one message saying that it had been blocked) it is now on the website www.valleystriders.org.uk  (look in “Email Updates” in the “For Club Members” section).

Regarding Tuesday’s junior race and club handicap, no need to register, just turn up in good time (6:20 for juniors, 6:45 for adults).  Remember to order food (meat or veggie & whether you want apple pie) to [email protected] .  Please order by 10p.m. Sunday if possible, but because of the email problems we’ve extended the deadline to 11a.m. Monday.

Do you want to run next year’s London Marathon?  Note that online applications open on Monday!  (and maybe close on Monday too).  http://www.virginlondonmarathon.com/  They will take 100,000 applications, then there will be a ballot next October and around 20,000 will get  a place.  I can’t find anywhere that says what time they open - if you know, let me know, and I’ll put it on the home page of the V S website.

If you’re going to run the parkrun mobrun next Saturday, if you’ve not registered for parkrun before, you need to do so at www.parkrun.com .  Congratulations to Holly who won at Roundhay yesterday.

So far we have 5 marshals for Leeds Half Marathon but need 7 more.  We need to give in names early next week, so if you can help, please email [email protected] .  For those of you who marshalled at Meanwood and didn’t get any beer, I’m getting some extra bottles, will let you know!
