Yorkshire Vets – message from Geoff
Many thanks to everyone who turned out to help with
the race organisation. The elderly folk really appreciated the smiling faces
& encouragement of the marshals, particularly Dan Murray who dressed in the
uniform of a Chelsea Pensioner & sang “it’s a long way to
Thanks also to Mike & Eileen for their usual
reliable job of time keeping & special thanks to Pat & John for their
excellent catering effort (much appreciated by the hungry runners) not
forgetting their able assistant Joyce, the Voice. Conduct of the race was
overseen by referee Ken who kept GW on his toes regarding the race permit.
All the vets enjoyed their trip round the trail in
which VS was represented by Paul White, Carole Schofield & Malcolm Coles
(winner of some socks).
Malcolm is doing the full series of races which are
one per month throughout the summer; so if you have reached the great age of 35
you are eligible to take part in the series of off road events where you may
score points & points mean prizes. Look out on VS Forthcoming Events
for the next race!
