NEWSLETTER

The latest issue of Valley Striders News is on its way to you!   When you get it, if you're wondering why there is a yellow piece of paper inside, it's because the shop gave me window envelopes by mistake and the yellow piece makes the address easier to read for your postman.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Next Tuesday at Leos, 8:30 pm prompt start

Agenda
- reports from committee
- election of new committee
- cross country
- races supported by Striders
- junior Striders
- UK Athletics proposals
- any other business

PIE AND PEAS

Will be served at the AGM from 8:15 onwards, so if you're not running that evening, come early for the food and avoid the queue.

Please let me know by email (or phone 289 2830) whether you want meat pie or veg pie and whether you want mushy peas or baked beans

CROSS COUNTRY

The cross country races are confirmed as
- Sat 15 Oct York
- Sun 30 Oct Otley
- Sat 19 Nov Wakefield
- Sun 4 Dec Guiseley
Entries for the first race must be in by Sunday 1 October. Cost will be approx £6 in total for 4 races.  If you want to be entered, email
John Hallas  [email protected]
or Mivvy Tekchandani  [email protected]
There are no entries on the day and swapping of numbers is not allowed in any circumstances.

LONDON MARATHON

Good for age entries need to be in by 7 October.  All entries need to be in by 21 October.  Valley Striders are likely to have some club places, more details to follow of how these are to be allocated, but you must have made a 'proper' entry (and failed) to get in our ballot.

BRASS MONKEY HALF

I was wrong.  This took a little longer to fill than my prediction.  I predicted 7 days, it was actually 9.

LEEDS COUNTRY WAY

If you're looking for your pottery, they are still making them.  They had a problem with their suppliers so they weren't ready on race day (and still aren't, as far as I know).  I'll send out the results in another email
